FISHING REPORT

Lake of the Arbuckles: January 29.  Elevation 3 4/5 ft. below normal, water 47 and stained. Bass hitting jigs, jerkbaits, and Alabama rigs. Crappie and White bass hitting CC spoons along creek channel bends at 35-55 ft. Crappie slow off of docks but hitting Chartruese jigs over deep brushpiles. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Blue River: January 30. Elevation normal, water 42 and murky. Trout good on garlic scented Power Bait, in-line spinners, and meal worms. Fly-fishing good on wooly buggers, elk hair caddis flies, soft-hackle pheasant tails, and emergers. Channel catfish fair on stinkbait around structure in larger pools. Broken Bow: January 29. Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spotted bass good on black jigs, jig-and-pig, black #11, and black and blue flake in deeper water. Catfish good on juglines baited with cut bait. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs in deeper water around structure. Report submitted by Dru Polk, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Eufaula:  January 30. Elevation ½ ft. above normal. Largemouth bass slow. White bass slow. Blue catfish fair on fresh shad on flats and in creek channels. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs in standing timber, on docks over brush, and in rocky areas at 12-20 ft. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

Hugo: January 29. Elevation normal, water 51. Crappie fair on minnows. Catfish fair on cutbait. Crappie good on jigs below the dam. Report submitted by Jay Harvey, game warden stationed in Choctaw and Bryan counties.

Konawa:  January 28. Elevation normal, water 48 and clear. Largemouth bass good on crankbaits at 5-15 ft. around points and in the discharge canal. White bass fair on minnows and jigs at 15 ft. in the discharge canal. All other fishing slow. Report submitted by Daryl Howser, game warden stationed in Seminole County.

Lower Mountain Fork River: No report submitted this week.

McGee Creek:  January 29. Elevation 5 ½ ft. above normal, water 49 and murky. Black bass fair on soft plastic lures and jig-and-pigs at 6-20 ft. Crappie fair around cedar brush and just off of main creek channels at 10-20 ft. Channel catfish fair to good on liver and stinkbait in upper creek channels where fresh water is coming in. Pine Creek:  January 29. Elevation below normal and murky. Bass and Crappie good in the deepest water. Catfish fair on cut shad. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Robert S. Kerr:  January 31. Elevation normal, water 45 and murky. Catfish fair on shad and cut bait in main river channels. Crappie fair on minnows at 10 – 12 ft. around submerged brush piles by Little Sans Bois Creek. Report Submitted by Leland Sockey, game warden stationed in Haskell County.  

Sardis Lake: January 29. Elevation 6 in. above normal. Largemouth bass fair to good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and swim baits. Channel catfish and Blue catfish good on cut bait and dipped minnows. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 9- 14 ft. Walleye fair trolling crankbaits. Report submitted by Dane Polk, game warden stationed in Pushmataha County.

Texoma:  January 29. Elevation ½ ft. below normal, water 50 and murky to the north and clear to the south. Largemouth bass and Smallmouth bass fair to good on plastic worms, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits at 10-15 ft. around points and drop-offs. Striped bass and White bass fair to good on live bait, slabs and sassyshad at 15-20 ft. from Alberta Creek to the south and west. Channel catfish and Blue catfish fair to good on live bait and stinkbait at 10-15 ft. from Platter Flats to the north. Crappie fair to good on minnows and jigs at 5-10 ft. in Kansas and Widowmoore Creeks. Paddlefish fair below the dam while generating. Wister: January 30. Elevation normal and murky. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs below the dam. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Catfish fair to good on cut shad and liver. Report submitted by Randy Fennell, game warden stationed in LeFlore County.

Ft. Gibson:  January 29. Elevation 1 ft. below normal, water 39 and clear. Catfish fair on cut bait and goldfish drifting in the main channel south of HWY 51 Bridge. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 20-25 ft. Black bass good on warm days using crankbaits and jig and pig combinations at 5ft. Report submitted by Rick Stafford of Wagoner.

Greenleaf: January 30. Elevation normal and clear. Largemouth bass good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and dipped baits along shoreline, creek channels and brush structure. Catfish good on fresh cut bait and stinkbait in creek channels and at the spillway. Crappie good on minnows and yellow, green, and red jigs at the fishing dock and around brush structure. Hudson:  January 30. Elevation normal. Crappie good on minnows and jigs in heated docks and over brush. All other fishing slow. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Rogers and Mayes counties.

Kaw: January 31. Elevation normal, water 44 and clear. Crappie good on 2 in. black and green jigs and minnows at 20 - 25 ft. around brush piles that have been placed close to natural structure such as drop-offs and riprap from the upper Arkansas river to the dam. Blue catfish fair on juglines using cut gizzard shad at 5 - 30 ft. in the upper portion of the lake in river channels. Trotlines using cut gizzard shad are also effective. Keystone:  January 17. Elevation normal, water murky. Crappie being caught on minnows, tube jigs and hair jigs at 10-15 ft. and off the docks. Catfish being caught on but bait, gold fish large shiners and worms. Walleye and saugeye being caught on shiners in the lake. Report submitted by Woody’s Bait and Tackle II.

Lower Illinois:  January 29. Elevation normal, water 43 and clear. Largemouth bass slow on stinkbaits at 1-3 ft. in coves towards the mouth of the river. Striped bass fair on jigs at 1-3 ft. at the mouth of the river. Channel catfish good on cut bait on the bottom along all of the river. Trout excellent on flies on surface, rooster tails at 1-2 ft. and Power Bait on bottom by the dam and Gore Landing. Report submitted by D. Tracy, Town of Gore

Spavinaw:
 January 31. Elevation slightly above normal, water 46 and dingy. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around the dam. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits. Report submitted by Dwight Moore, City of Tulsa.

Tenkiller:  January 23. Elevation 1/4 ft. below normal and steady, water 50 and clear. Crappie fair on soft plastic jigs at 20-25 ft. mid-lake. Sunfish good on worm-tipped jigs in docks. Report submitted by Monte Brooks, Cookson Village Resort.

Webbers Falls: January 30. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits around rip rap, creek channels, and brush structure. Catfish good on fresh cut bait drifting on bottom and across mud flats. Crappie good on minnows and black and purple jigs around bridges and brush structure. All other fishing slow.
